We belong to community—and that means showing up for each other.
As a youth-led group made up of multicultural newcomers, we at Beyond Borders Youth Network want to say thank you to Dechinta Centre for Research and Learning and The Community Cache for organizing “I Belong to Community.”
This gathering comes in the wake of the heartbreaking tragedy during the Lapu Lapu Festival in Vancouver, where 11 lives were lost. It’s a reminder that even in the deepest grief, we don’t have to stand alone.
It means so much to see our Filipino friends, families, and loved ones held with care, respect, and solidarity. We’re grateful for the space to come together, share in the community, and support one another.
Thank you for creating that space.
