Our Team

Beyond Borders Youth Network is led by a passionate, diverse team. Many of whom have walked the newcomer path themselves. Having moved to Yukon from places like India and the Philippines, our team members know firsthand what it means to start over, build community from scratch, and turn a new place into home. That shared experience shapes everything we do: we’re united by one goal. Supporting and empowering the young immigrants and refugees who are now writing their own Yukon story.

Aayush Batta

Director

Originally from India, Aayush now calls Whitehorse home. He’s fallen in love with the Yukon. Its mountains, forests, and wide-open wilderness have a way of pulling him outdoors every chance he gets, whether he’s sketching a scene, exploring a new trail, or just chasing the next adventure. Aayush hopes to put down roots here for good, and that same sense of belonging and connection to place is something he’s excited to help bring to the BBYN community.

Cedrick Vinoya

President

A Filipino community-builder, Cedrick made his way to Whitehorse after completing a degree in Business Administration in the Philippines and studying Liberal Arts at Yukon University. He’s driven by connection, bringing people together, sharing meaningful stories, and making sure everyone feels like they belong. At BBYN, he blends his marketing brain, customer service roots, and big community energy into everything he takes on. Beyond BBYN, you’ll find him at Yukonstruct Society and serving on the Youth Core Team for the Canadian Council for Refugees.

Cjay Pacana

Director

Approachable, friendly, and always up for a challenge, Cjay brings a steady, positive energy to everything he does. When he’s not at BBYN, you’ll likely find him with his nose in a book, out on the golf course, going for a run, or trying out a new hobby just to see where it leads. Now in his second year with BBYN, Cjay’s hope is simple: to keep bringing that positive energy and help the organization keep growing.

Dhwani Bhatt

Director

A true people person, Dhwani lights up whenever there’s a chance to connect with others, engage with the community, and bring people together. She’s passionate about the work Beyond Borders Youth Network does, and brings her ideas, energy, and experience to creating meaningful opportunities for youth. With a positive, joyful spirit in everything she does, Dhwani is always looking forward to connecting, learning, and making a difference in the community.

Harshjeet Chahal

Treasurer

Harshjeet moved to Canada in 2017 and started from scratch, putting herself through school, working toward permanent residency, and building a career across HR, property management, and marketing. Along the way, she learned that belonging isn’t automatic; it’s built through friendships and the people who make a new place feel like home. When she’s not working, you’ll find her hiking, chasing sunsets, or saying yes to an adventure before checking how hard it’ll be. As she puts it: home isn’t always where you start. Sometimes, it’s what you build.

Kiran Ramoju

Director

Kiran moved to Canada from India in 2021, relocating to Yukon in 2024 after a few years in Ontario. With a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, postgraduate studies in Project Management, and eight years of construction experience, he brings strong planning, organization, and project management skills to the BBYN board. Outside of that, he’s usually out hiking or behind a camera, capturing the Yukon landscape through photography.

Naincy Saini

Secretary

A first-generation immigrant from India, Naincy celebrates her journey and holds deep gratitude for the opportunities Canada has given her. She brings a diverse skill set spanning IT, governance, operations, event management, and more. Naincy joined the BBYN community in 2025 and has proudly served on the Board ever since, lending her experience, perspective, and passion to help strengthen and grow the community.

Via Echevaria

Vice President

A passionate cook, Via loves bringing people together through food, community, and meaningful connections. Outside of work, you’ll find her outdoors doing hiking, playing sports, and chasing any excuse for an adventure. She’s just as passionate about meeting new people and creating opportunities for youth to connect, stay active, and try new things. Via believes that time outdoors and time in community go hand in hand, building confidence, creating lasting memories, and strengthening the bonds that make a place feel like home.
