Huge thank you to everyone who came out on Friday for our AGM + 1 year anniversary! We laughed, we looked back on the memories, we played bingo, table tennis, and pool. And of course, we made plans for the future. All the things. 💥

Thank y’all for being part of this community. ❤️🔥
We just wrapped up the BBYN Annual General Meeting and celebrated one full year of this little youth-led dream that grew into something bigger than we imagined.
When we started Beyond Borders Youth Network, all we really wanted was to build something that made immigrant and refugee youth in the Yukon feel less alone. To help people find each other. To create space for volunteering, growing skills, sharing cultures, and just… feeling seen and belong.
In just one year, we registered as a nonprofit, hiked mountains, threw a holiday party, ran community events, led strategic planning, and built a board of youth who truly care. That alone is a win.
And now we’re stepping into year two with even more direction. New board members. Bigger ideas. Deeper roots in the community. More spaces for youth to thrive, in the Yukon and beyond.
If there’s one thing I’m taking away from this year, it’s that when young people are trusted, supported, and given the mic, they build magic.
Here’s to more connection, more impact, and more movement in the year ahead. Lezz go, y’all BBYN fam. 💛 – Cedrick Vinoya, President
